Pakistan, Sept. 23 -- Actor Saba Faisal has drawn criticism after discussing divorce and changing attitudes toward divorced women. She made the remarks during an appearance on Samaa TV's talk show Gup Shab. Her comments focused on how women respond after marriages end.

During the programme, Faisal discussed her earlier comments about rising divorce rates. She maintained that women should not compete with their husbands. She said these views came from teachings passed down by older generations.

The conversation later turned toward changing attitudes surrounding divorce in Pakistan. Faisal recalled a time when families openly mourned after a divorce. She said families once experienced distress and social shame when a marriage ended.
