Pakistan, Sept. 8 -- Ryanair flight passengers faced a delay after their aircraft was diverted to East Midlands Airport following a bird strike. The flight left Norwich for Malta at 8:41am BST on Tuesday, September 8. The aircraft reportedly circled near Norwich at around 7,000 feet before flying over Nottingham. It later landed safely at East Midlands Airport at 10am local time.
Ryanair confirmed that the bird strike happened shortly after takeoff but described it as minor. The airline said the aircraft did not need to make an emergency landing following the incident. However, the pilot used an emergency squawk code to alert air traffic controllers. The code helps controllers identify and manage aircraft during unusual situations.
