Pakistan, Oct. 3 -- A Russian strike damaged a major bridge in Kyiv, causing further disruption across the Ukrainian capital. The attack targeted the Northern Bridge, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. Traffic was blocked after the strike damaged parts of the crossing.

Klitschko said emergency services were sent to the scene after the attack. He later reported damage to the bridge's road surface and trolleybus wires. Authorities blocked traffic moving from Kyiv's left bank toward the right bank.

The strike followed an earlier attack on Kyiv's Southern Bridge. Officials had closed that crossing after a wave of Russian strikes on Friday. The attacks also forced authorities to restrict movement on another bridge.
