Pakistan, May 30 -- The Pakistani rupee posted marginal gain against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Friday. At close, the local currency settled at 278.50, a gain of Re0.01 against the greenback. On Monday, the local unit closed at 278.51. The dollar extended its weakness against major currencies on Friday and was on track to end the week lower. The euro fetched $1.1653, up 0.03% so far in Asia, while the pound traded flat at $1.3445. The Australian dollar was steady at $0.7164 and the New Zealand dollar rose 0.2% to $0.5946, near the strongest level in more than two weeks.
