Pakistan, May 22 -- US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that any toll system in the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable. He stated that such a move, reportedly being considered by Iran, would not be tolerated by the United States. The remarks came during a NATO foreign ministers' meeting in Sweden.

Rubio said there has been some progress in ongoing discussions with Iran. However, he stressed that imposing any tolls or fees on the strategic waterway remains firmly opposed by Washington. He added that the US position on the issue is clear and non-negotiable.
