Pakistan, June 17 -- New revelations have emerged from an investigation into the Lyari Expressway Resettlement Project, where authorities have uncovered a major Lyari Expressway plot scam involving land worth more than Rs16 billion. According to official documents, thousands of plots were allegedly created and allocated in violation of approved development plans, causing significant losses to the national exchequer.

According to NAB documents, the project director recommended the cancellation of around 9,000 illegal plots identified within the resettlement project. The recommendation was made after irregularities were found in several housing schemes developed under the project.
