Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced on Sunday that a major road in the Duki district will be named after Dr Mahnoor Nasir, a doctor who suffered an acid attack in June, in honour of her "bravery, resilience and services as a medical professional". Dr Nasir, a 29-year-old female doctor at Quetta's Civil Hospital, was seriously injured in June when a hospital employee allegedly threw acid on her, suffering severe burn injuries to her face, chest, legs and other parts of her body. The attacker, later identified by police as Humayun Shah, was said to have been killed in an encounter after law enforcers traced him as he attempted to flee on a bus.
