Pakistan, Sept. 9 -- Rescuers are searching waters and nearby islands for five Indonesian journalists missing after a speedboat carrying eight people disappeared near an active volcano. The group travelled to cover the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, but lost contact with the boat owner shortly after departing west of Jakarta. The second day of the search ended without finding any trace of the passengers. Authorities said the operation would resume on Thursday.

The journalists left on Monday afternoon with two crew members and a guide. One journalist managed to contact a colleague around 3pm and shared his location. However, there has been no further communication from anyone aboard the boat since then.
