Pakistan, July 27 -- Republican Congressman Thomas Massie has sharply criticised the Trump administration's handling of the conflict with Iran, arguing that the war has weakened the United States militarily, economically and strategically while claiming the costs were incurred in support of Israel.

In a post on X, the Kentucky lawmaker wrote that the United States had been "significantly weakened" by the war with Iran. He alleged that the conflict had depleted America's missile defence systems, drained strategic petroleum reserves, increased inflation, added to the national debt and diverted attention from domestic priorities.
