Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Record rainfall in Japan's eastern Chiba region has killed four people and left another missing, according to local authorities. The Japan Meteorological reported severe rainfall near Tokyo. Chiba city received 367 millimetres of rain within 24 hours. The amount was more than three times the region's average monthly rainfall.

The heavy rain caused widespread disruption across the affected areas. More than 25,000 homes lost electricity after the extreme weather. Meanwhile, more than 7,000 passengers became stranded at airports. Dozens of trains were cancelled as authorities struggled to manage the worsening conditions.
