Pakistan, Aug. 30 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's Adviser on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah said Nawaz Sharif decided to appoint Iftikhar Gilani as Azad Jammu and Kashmir's prime minister. He said the decision came after consultations within the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership.

Speaking in a private television programme, Rana Sanaullah said the party leadership and Nawaz Sharif agreed on Gilani for the top AJK position. He rejected the impression that anyone was treated unfairly during the decision-making process. Moreover, he said the leadership had reached the decision after considering the available options.
