Pakistan, Sept. 1 -- National Disaster Management Authority's (NDMA) National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) on Monday issued an alert warning of possible flash floods across Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and the Potohar region over the next 48 hours due to forecast rains, with increased river flows, urban flooding and torrents in vulnerable areas posing risks to communities, travellers and tourists.

The NDMA said flash flooding is feared in several areas of Gilgit Baltistan, including Gilgit, Diamer, Ghizer, Hunza, Skardu, Astore and Shigar, following the expected rainfall.
