Pakistan, Aug. 21 -- Rain lashed Rawalpindi and Islamabad on Friday, increasing water flow in Nullah Lai and prompting authorities to intensify monitoring. The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded the highest rainfall of 60mm in Golra, followed by 31mm in Bokra. Shamsabad and Pirwadhai received 25mm each, while New Katarian recorded 21mm and Gawalmandi 22mm.
The heavy downpour once again raised the water level in Nullah Lai, according to the Water and Sanitation . Wasa Managing Director said water at Katarian reached 11 feet following the rainfall. Meanwhile, authorities continued closely monitoring the waterway and other vulnerable drainage points.
