Pakistan, Sept. 21 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin's United Russia party secured a large majority in parliamentary elections, according to preliminary results. The vote was held amid Ukrainian drone attacks, cyberattacks and restrictions on anti-war opposition.

More than 71% of ballots counted showed United Russia with 57.5% of the vote, according to Russian state media. The Communist Party received 14%, while the Liberal Democratic Party secured 8.7%. State TASS projected that United Russia would retain its two-thirds majority in the 450-seat State Duma.
