St. Petersburg, April 27 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Russia will do what it can in the interests of Iran and regional countries during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The remarks come amid ongoing regional tensions and diplomatic efforts to reduce conflict.

According to Russian media, Putin said he had received a message from Iran's supreme leader and extended his best wishes. He expressed hope that the Iranian people would overcome current challenges and that peace would be restored in the region.
