Pakistan, June 16 -- The Punjab government presented a Rs5.903 trillion budget for fiscal year 2026-27, proposing a 7 percent salary increase for employees. The budget also includes a 3.5 percent pension raise and significant allocations for development sectors. The measures aim to support public welfare, infrastructure growth and economic stability across the province.
Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman unveiled the budget in the provincial assembly after receiving cabinet approval. The government set a provincial revenue target of Rs1.209 trillion and allocated Rs752 billion for development projects. Officials said the budget reflects the government's commitment to sustained growth and public service delivery.
