Pakistan, Sept. 13 -- Punjab Police has resolved more than 93,000 complaints received through the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre during the current year as part of efforts to address citizens' grievances and improve police accountability. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said complaints received through the helpline were being addressed within the prescribed timelines in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

He said the monitoring mechanism of the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre had been further strengthened to ensure more effective and timely resolution of complaints. DPOs were also personally monitoring complaints received through the system to ensure their prompt disposal, he added.
