Pakistan, Aug. 24 -- The Punjab government has approved the construction of a surface water treatment plant and water supply system at Dadocha Dam to provide clean drinking water to the residents of Rawalpindi. According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Housing Department, the project is estimated to cost Rs36 billion and is scheduled for completion by December 2029. Under the project, the Water and Sanitation (WASA) will construct the water supply system, while 35 million gallons of treated water per day will be added to Rawalpindi's supply network.
