Pakistan, Oct. 7 -- Punjab Traffic Police has ordered strict action against smoke-emitting vehicles as authorities intensify efforts to control smog in Lahore. The new directive requires traffic officials to prevent vehicles producing excessive smoke from operating on roads. The move comes as authorities strengthen enforcement against vehicles that contribute to air pollution and create unsafe conditions for road users.
The directive covers all Chief Traffic Officers and District Police Officers across Punjab. It requires traffic police, the Environmental Protection (EPA) and the Transport Department to conduct joint checking operations.
