Pakistan, Oct. 11 -- District courts across Punjab decided 2,934 out of 3,397 cases pending under the Pakistan Arms Ordinance, 1965, up to 2023, during the past six months, achieving a disposal rate of over 86 per cent.
According to the Lahore High Court media cell on Saturday, the progress has been made on the special directives of Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Aalia Neelum to ensure the timely provision of quality justice to litigants. All cases registered under the ordinance up to 2023 have been decided in 17 districts of Punjab, while 463 cases remain pending in other districts. A large number of these cases are linked to pending murder trials.
