Pakistan, April 9 -- Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing it as a significant step toward global peace.

In her statement on Wednesday, she congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their sincere and unparalleled efforts in promoting peace at the global level. She remarked that Allah Almighty has chosen Pakistan to play a pivotal role in the establishment of peace, adding that no amount of gratitude would be sufficient for this blessing.
