Pakistan, July 1 -- The Habitual Offenders Bill has been put on hold after Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to review the proposed legislation again before it is presented for final approval.

According to sources, the Punjab Assembly has returned the bill to the provincial government. The chief minister has instructed officials to stop further progress on the current draft and prepare a revised version after a detailed review.

Sources said Maryam Nawaz has ordered that every clause of the proposed bill be carefully examined. She also directed that relevant stakeholders be consulted, particularly on the definitions of "anti-social behaviour" and "habitual offenders."
