Punjab boosts firefighting capacity with 39 vehiclesPublished on: August 27, 2026 9:01 PM
Pakistan, Aug. 27 -- Punjab has provided 39 new fire brigade vehicles to 39 tehsils across the province. Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari said the vehicles cost Rs1.884 billion. The initiative aims to strengthen emergency response during fire incidents.
Bukhari said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had equipped Rescue services with modern facilities. She said the new vehicles would improve firefighting capabilities across the selected tehsils. The upgraded resources will support faster emergency operations during fire emergencies.
According to Bukhari, authorities have deployed 273 firefighters across the 39 tehsils. They have also appointed 156 drivers and 429 other personnel. The staffing aims to ensure timely rescue operations...
