Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong positive trend on Wednesday, gaining 830.43 points, a positive change of 0.48 percent, to close at 172,232.51 points against 171,402.08 points recorded in the previous trading session.

The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 773.593 million shares, compared to 641.834 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs26.453 billion from Rs18.466 billion.

Market capitalisation increased to Rs19.178 trillion from Rs19.093 trillion recorded a day earlier. Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 262 posted gains, 196 suffered losses, while 38 remained unchanged.
