Pakistan, Aug. 3 -- The Pakistan Stock Exchange extended its gains on Monday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index rose 1,855 points. Falling global oil prices and easing Middle East tensions boosted investor confidence across key market sectors.

The KSE-100 climbed 1.05% to 177,948.83 points by early afternoon. Earlier, the benchmark surged nearly 2,750 points before trimming some gains during intraday trading.

The index reached an intraday high of 178,985.94 points and a low of 178,045.68. Meanwhile, investors traded 177.11 million shares worth Rs13.77 billion during the session.
