Pakistan, Sept. 25 -- President Asif Ali Zardari has assured the press of his continued support for maintaining the highest standards of journalism and an enabling environment for a free press.

In his message on National Newspapers Readership Day, the president said in today's changing media environment, newspaper readership was no longer confined to the printed page, as newspapers increasingly reached readers through digital platforms and other forms of online access.
