Pakistan, Sept. 27 -- President Asif Ali Zardari has approved the Islamabad Capital Territory Safe City Ordinance for protection of safe-city cameras and surveillance Infrastructure.

The law imposes heavy fines over damaging the safe-city cameras and surveillance Infrastructure. Heavy fines of up to two million per camera could be imposed over the perpetrators for damaging the safe-city cameras and the surveillance Infrastructure.

Under the ordinance, a penalty may also be imposed for damaging the safe city cameras and surveillance infrastructure, or for inciting or encouraging such damage.
