Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- The Punjab Revenue Authority has banned handwritten receipts at restaurants, hotels, coffee shops and marriage halls across Punjab to improve tax monitoring and reduce alleged tax evasion. The authority has directed businesses to issue customer receipts through the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System under new enforcement measures.

Under the new rules, hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and marriage halls must issue receipts through EIMS instead of using handwritten bills. PRA commissioners across Punjab have issued notifications following directions from Chairman Muazam Iqbal Sapra to implement the requirements.
