Pakistan, Sept. 26 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated before the United Nation's General Assembly on Friday that any attempt by India to divert Pakistan's share of water would be treated as an "act of war".

"Water must never be weaponised. Rivers should nourish nations, not divide them. Therefore, any attempt to stop, impede or divert Pakistan's share of the waters will be treated as an act of war. India must make no mistake about it," he said.

The premier was addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The official theme of the 81st session is 'Restoring Trust, Managing Transformation: A United Nations That Delivers for All', and the UNGA debate is expected to run from Sept 22 to 26, ...
