Pakistan, Aug. 10 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said protecting Islam's holiest sites remains an important responsibility for Pakistan's people and armed forces.

Addressing the federal cabinet, Shehbaz described the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia-Turkiye defence agreement as an important development for regional peace and security.

He said the Makkah agreement extends existing defence cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He also highlighted decades of close cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye.
