Pakistan, Aug. 28 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered authorities to complete tax reforms within a defined timeframe. He issued the directive during a weekly review meeting on Federal Board of Revenue reforms. The government aims to modernise tax collection and strengthen efforts against tax evasion and smuggling.

The meeting took place in Islamabad on Friday under the prime minister's chairmanship. Officials briefed Shehbaz on several ongoing FBR reform initiatives. Discussions focused on Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited, tax digitalisation and measures against smuggling.
