Pakistan, April 22 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to fast-track the promotion of electric vehicles across Pakistan. The move aims to reduce fuel import costs and strengthen energy security. It comes as part of broader efforts to modernise the transport sector and address environmental challenges.

Chairing a meeting on EV promotion, the prime minister said ongoing initiatives should be accelerated without delay. Officials briefed him on progress in manufacturing approvals and infrastructure development. The meeting reviewed current policies and future targets for electric mobility.
