Pakistan, June 10 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that generating maximum resources and ensuring adequate funding for defence remains a top priority. He stressed that Pakistan needs stronger financial capacity to address security challenges, including terrorism. The remarks came during a meeting of the National Economic Council.

Addressing the NEC, the prime minister said consultations with provinces on the upcoming budget have continued for several weeks. He added that efforts are underway to expand revenue generation and improve economic planning. Moreover, he said increasing exports is essential for accelerating GDP growth.
