Pakistan, July 8 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to intensify search and rescue efforts after a K2 Airways cargo aircraft disappeared from radar while flying from Sharjah to Karachi over the Arabian Sea.

According to state-run Radio Pakistan, the prime minister instructed the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) to utilize all available resources to locate the missing aircraft. He also expressed sympathy with the families of the five crew members on board and said every possible effort should be made to determine the aircraft's whereabouts.
