Pakistan, Sept. 22 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered talks with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) over the petroleum levy as the party's protest march reached Multan. The prime minister asked JI Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman to postpone the Islamabad march until his return to Pakistan.

Shehbaz spoke with Hafiz Naeem by telephone on Tuesday, according to a JI spokesperson. The prime minister said he was ready for meaningful discussions on the petroleum levy after returning to the country.
