Pakistan, July 4 -- Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defense Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir on Friday attended the funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, leading one of the highest-level foreign delegations at the ceremony as Islamabad continues efforts to help consolidate a fragile ceasefire between Iran and the United States.

A seven-day series of state funeral ceremonies for former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has begun in Iran, with foreign delegations from more than 100 countries arriving to attend.

Khamenei's body lay in state in a vast hall in Tehran on Friday as scholars, officials, foreign dignitaries and other mourners paid their respects after his 37-year rule.
