Pakistan, Aug. 11 -- Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday termed the Pakistan-Saudia-Turkiye Defence agreement a step towards regional peace and underlined that the agreement was purely defensive in nature and aimed at promoting peace, stability and progress in the region, and was not directed at any form of aggression.

The prime minister added that the accord held significance not only for the three countries but for the wider Muslim Ummah, as he chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet, welcoming members and senior government officials and briefing them on recent developments, including the trilateral defence agreement signed between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.
