Pakistan, Aug. 29 -- An inquiry into the PIMS nursery fire has found serious gaps in fire safety and medical facilities. The report has recommended strict action against staff members absent during the incident. The tragedy claimed the lives of 14 infants at the Islamabad hospital.
Sources said the inquiry report has been completed and submitted to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Former interior secretary Shahid Khan headed the committee that prepared the report. The findings have not yet been made public, pending the prime minister's approval.
