Pakistan, Aug. 14 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian congratulated Pakistan on Independence Day and called for stronger bilateral relations, saying the two neighbours' shared interests were increasingly connected.

In his message, Pezeshkian described the occasion as an opportunity to recognise Pakistan's achievements and further strengthen the long-standing relationship between Tehran and Islamabad.

He said Pakistan's Independence Day could provide fresh momentum to broaden cooperation between the two countries, particularly by using their existing potential and shared opportunities.
