NEW YORK, Sept. 23 -- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran would not surrender to US pressure during his UN General Assembly address. He also said Tehran remained committed to diplomacy.

Pezeshkian spoke a day after US President Donald Trump threatened to "annihilate" Iran. The speeches came as US and Iranian officials held indirect talks in New York over the ongoing conflict.
The Iranian president defended Tehran's military actions as defensive. He also insisted that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons. Pezeshkian accused Washington of aggression and said Iran would resist increased sanctions and pressure.
