Pakistan, May 16 -- Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked Pope Leo for what he described as a "moral" stance against US attacks on Iran. He said the Pope's position was fair and rational, and came in response to actions he called unlawful and destabilising. The remarks highlight Iran's effort to build diplomatic support amid rising tensions.

Pezeshkian said the US and Israeli strikes were carried out under false pretexts and during ongoing negotiations. He also criticised statements by US President Donald Trump, calling them dangerous and irresponsible. Moreover, he said such policies undermine international law and global stability.
