Pakistan, July 7 -- Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the government would pass on any benefit to consumers if international petrol prices decline further. He said imported petrol remains significantly more expensive despite lower global crude oil prices. The remarks came amid public concerns over domestic fuel prices.

Speaking to reporters at Parliament House, the minister said crude oil prices had returned to pre-conflict levels. However, he noted that the price of imported petrol remained about $15 per barrel higher than before the conflict. He added that Pakistan imports nearly 70 to 80 percent of its petrol requirements.
