Pakistan, Sept. 4 -- Pakistan's inflation rate increased as petrol and several essential food items became more expensive. The latest figures show continued pressure on household budgets.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics released its weekly inflation report on Friday. According to the report, weekly inflation increased by 0.65 percent during the latest week.
The annual inflation rate reached 8.35 percent, according to official data. Several food items recorded notable price increases during the reported period.
Onions recorded the biggest increase, with prices rising 26.30 percent in one week. Tomato prices increased by 2.55 percent, while potatoes became 0.96 percent more expensive.
