Pakistan, July 15 -- Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has filed an application seeking a one-day exemption from personal appearance in a money laundering case being heard by the Special Central Court in Lahore.

According to the application submitted through his counsel, Parvez Elahi is suffering from health issues and has been advised complete rest by his doctors. The plea requests the court to excuse his appearance for one hearing due to his medical condition.

The defence lawyer urged the court to accept the one-day exemption request, stating that the former chief minister is unable to attend the proceedings because of his illness.
