Pakistan, Oct. 10 -- Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said Pakistan is acting as an "honest broker" while mediating between the United States and Iran, reiterating the commitment to a "negotiated and peaceful" outcome.

The military's spokesperson made the remarks in an interview with CNN correspondent Ivan Watson, who posted a small clip of the interview on his X account.

During the interview, Lt Gen Chaudhry was asked whether Pakistan can "still play a neutral role [in the US-Iran war] when Iran has targeted Saudi Arabia in the past, with the Makkah alliance, and now you have an Iranian ally - the Houthis - attacking Saudi Arabia".
