Pakistan, Sept. 24 -- Pakistan has urged stronger safeguards to prevent artificial intelligence from becoming part of the global arms race. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar made the remarks at the United Nations Security Council. The council held a briefing on artificial intelligence and international security on September 24.

Dar said countries need regulations and governance frameworks to manage AI-related risks. He also called for restraint and confidence-building measures in military applications. According to him, such steps could help reduce risks linked to rapid decision-making.
