Pakistan, Aug. 13 -- Pakistan's tuna trade with Iran has nearly stalled as escalating US-Iran tensions disrupt fishing activities and cross-border commerce.

Thousands of Pakistani fishermen depend on Iranian markets, where tuna can reportedly fetch six to seven times higher prices than in Pakistan.

Pakistani fishermen traditionally exchange subsidised Iranian fuel for tuna through a barter-based trading system. However, recent attacks on Iranian ports have made fishing operations increasingly risky.
