Pakistan, May 18 -- Pakistan will celebrate Eid al-Adha on May 27 after the moon marking the beginning of Zilhaj was sighted across the country, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Sunday.

The official announcement was made following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held in Karachi, chaired by committee head Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.

The session took place at the Met Office and was attended by members of central and zonal moon sighting committees, along with representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and SUPARCO.
