Pakistan, June 28 -- Pakistan will assume the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Business Council in 2027, with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) representing the country.

Atif Ikram Shiekh, President of the FPCCI, who also holds the Deputy Chairmanship of the SCO Business Council, attended the SCO Business Council board meeting held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic, read a statement on Saturday.

Sheikh reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to advancing regional economic cooperation, trade facilitation, investment promotion, and business-to-business connectivity among SCO member states.
