Pakistan, June 26 -- Pakistan has called for stronger international action against viral hepatitis using a high-level diplomatic gathering at the United Nations to seek wider support for moving the disease higher on the global health agenda as fresh World Health Organisation findings place the country at the centre of the world's hepatitis C crisis.
The appeal was made at a strategic briefing co-hosted by Pakistan's Permanent Mission to the UN and the Secretariat of the UN Group of Friends to Eliminate Hepatitis on the sidelines of the UN High-Level Meeting on HIV/AIDS in New York on Wednesday.
